Angler Achievement Designations

Reid’s Bass Beginnings (Bass Beginnings) has established “Angler Achievement Designations “.   In order to achieve these designations the angler must:

·         Receive Bass Beginnings training and demonstrate the ability to catch fish per the below table criteria

·         Meet the Wisconsin DNR Angler Education Standards of Conduct (To Be Determined).

·         Submit a Bass Beginnings Angler Achievement application form with a completed Bass Beginnings Creel sheet and a $5.00 review fee to Bass Beginnings (Checks should be made out to Reid Urban).  [Under Development]

 If the achievement level requested in the application is met, Bass Beginnings will issue a “Notification of Achievement” and the angler will receive a certificate and an embroidered Angler Achievement patch for the level achieved.  [Under Development]

  If the Achievement level is not met, Bass Beginnings will return the review fee with an explanation of what will be needed to achieve the level desired (Similar to  club materials [PDF 138KB][Under Development]

Age  10 years and younger

Age 11 & Above

Initial Angler (or Junior Angler)

Must fish at least 2 days during any one fishing season and catch 3 or more fish on any one day.

 Must fish at least 3 days during any one fishing season and catch 7 or more fish on any one day.

Intermediate Angler

Must fish at least 4 days during any one fishing season and catch 8 or more fish on any one day.

Must fish at least4 days during any one fishing season and catch 12 or more fish on any one day. 

3

Skilled Angler

Must fish at least 7 days during any one fishing season and either:

1)   Catch 15 or more fish on any one day and include at least 8 game fish or

 2)    At least 10 game fish on any one day

Must fish at least 7 days during any one fishing season and either:

1)    Catch 20 or more fish on any one day and include at least 9 game fish or

2)   At least 15 game fish on any one day

  • Must attend Bass Beginnings training for level 2 (Intermediate) and other training for the designated levels, if any OR pass a Bass Beginnings proficiency test (verbal and/or written) for the level desired. [Under Development]

  • Bass  Beginnings  “On the water creels sheets” to be verified and signed by one other adult (>18 years old) that was present during the catch and submitted to BB on WDNR form “xyz”.  The creel sheet and an application form will be submitted to the WDNR Angler Education Department for consideration.  The WDNR already has an application form for the WDNR anglers club.  Fish are as defined by the WDNR regulations as pan fish, rough fish and game fish.

  • One fishing day is defined as at least one hour of fishing for age group <10 and at least two hours for age group 11 and above.  

  • Game fish must be 11” or longer to be considered.
